Nights Out: What to Wear

With the prevalence of homebodies this year, due to the pandemic, it can be hard for many to figure out what to wear when they do go out these days. It doesn’t make much sense to spend a lot on date or dinner outfits anymore, and there seems to be more of an emphasis on comfort within fashion, as athleisure styles have risen in popularity (due to the increase in couch potatoes). Taking this into consideration, you can feel confident opting for something more comfortable and laid-back when going on a date or out with friends. Also, given the rarity of social outings these days, a budget-friendly approach to shopping for outfits like these would be to pick pieces that can easily shift from day to night, so that you can get more use out of them.

Think embellished jackets, denim jackets, and leather jackets with simple silhouettes in black and white underneath, maybe adding an accent shoe! You could also throw the texture on the bottom, with black leather pants and a chunky sweater or flowy top. Heels or sneakers both tend to fly these days, so it’s really up to you how you want to finish off the look. It seems that the overarching trend right now can be defined as comfortable with accents found in the details, but with a strong emphasis on comfortable. Nevertheless, don’t think you can’t still make a statement with bold colors, chunky gold hoops, or fun hair clips, just know that you can feel free to wear those more laid-back pieces and still be on point!
